DanceDanceRevolution Moves to the Mobile Phone Platform

DanceDanceRevolution Moves to the Mobile Phone Platform

Dance on the music’s rhythm with all your virtual online friends. Neutron, Exit Games’ mobile gaming platform, and Konami Digital Entertainment have joined hands to launch a new multiplayer game for dancers and music lovers. Called DanceDanceRevolution (DDR), mobile phone users can groove on the handset’s screen.

This mobile-to-mobile game incorporates never-seen-before network features, allowing gamers to dance against their friends in real time with the help of the mobile phone. If they want to impress somebody, then the best option is to highlight their latest solo performance. They need to upload their score online so that everybody from their friends list can see it.

“The Neutron gaming platform will enable Konami Mobile to create one of the first full-featured mobile multiplayer games. Social gaming and community features are what consumers want, and with Neutron providing the back end technology, Konami Mobile will bring fans of the DDR series a version of the game that they can enjoy from almost anywhere,” said Jim Bradbury, Konami Mobile’s Executive Director.

Tom Sperry, CEO of Exit Games, expressed, “The addition of DDR to the lineup of mobile games supporting multiplayer and social networking capabilities reaffirms our leadership position in a market where there is a premium on extending the consumer experience.”

The DanceDanceRevolution mobile game will hit the mobile phone platform in the Fall of 2008.
