Hewlett-Packard has announced the launch of its latest HP Compaq desktop PC, dubbed HP Compaq dc7800 in the Indian market. The latest ultra-slim computer boasts to be energy-efficient and is the industry’s first desktop PC to incorporate solid-state hard drive (SSD).
Designed for business purposes, it offers power and flexibility along with a wide range of environmental features to comply with the stringent environmental requirements of the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) Gold registry.
The included SSD delivers a variety of performances and durability upgrading such as near immediate access to data and the elimination of moving parts, which are the main causes of electro-mechanical wear outs. The other advantages are a faster system start, better reliability, improved power efficiency, shock improvement and a smaller overall footprint.

HP leverages this expertise to continually develop smart ideas for its PC product lines that not only help business customers be more productive, but also reduce operating costs and their effect on the environment.”
It claims to be one of the industry’s smallest enterprise-ready desktop and consumes low power with its 85 percent efficient power supply, without compromising on the performance.
Priced at Rs. 40,000, the HP Compaq dc7800 desktop PC is scheduled to release on 1st May 2008 in the country.
