HTC Touch Diamond Handset Shines in India via Airtel

The spark of the Diamond has reached the Indian bazaar. To roll over your hands on the diamond, you need to subscribe for Bharti Airtel’s connection because HTC has signed an exclusive agreement with India’s leading telecommunication services provider to release the Touch Diamond in the nation.

“The Touch Diamond is a breakthrough in innovation that packs the functionalities of a complete phone and offers an entirely new Touchscreen and mobile Internet and browsing experience for consumers. The launch of the Touch Diamond in India marks a new era in mobile phone evolution which will further catalyze the growth of Internet on mobile in the fastest growing telecom market in the world,” said Peter Chou, President & CEO, HTC Corp.

Indian users can enjoy Airtel’s state-of-the-art EDGE wireless network that ensures new and easy surfing capabilities. The touchscreen phone delivers the TouchFLO 3D to view a three dimensional touch interface and an innovative touch-sensitive control for interacting with Touch Diamond

On the 2.8-inch screen, users can navigate through menus and also access animatedly to messages, e-mails, photos along with weather and people amongst others. It also features an integrated camera with an optical auto-focus lens. Users will appreciate the near-print quality viewing of photographs.

HTC Touch Diamond runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional that allows Windows operation such as Outlook Mobile, Office Mobile, Windows Live and the capabilities to run thousands of third-party applications. It also includes a newly developed YouTube application to gain access to an array of user generated video content and make use of Google Maps for mobiles to get traffic updates and mapping.

The black-colored HTV Touch Diamond mobile phone carries a price tag of Rs. 27,500. No details on the availability date.
