HTC Touch Pro Business Handset Launched

HTC Touch Pro Business Handset Launched

Here is a business version of the Touch Diamond handset. HTC has unveiled its latest next-generation business phone named Touch Pro. Being part of the Touch family, the new mobile phone enhances the touchscreen interface to a 3D touch function by using TouchFLO 3D.

Keep track of calendar appointments, glance through messages, make calls and delve to access music, photos, contacts and surfing the web - all in 3D form by just one touch. Users also get to use touch-sensitive control for device interaction.

According to Peter Chou, president and CEO, HTC Corp, “The HTC Touch Pro and Touch Diamond have created a new generation of HTC touch devices that make the promise of the one-hand, one-touch mobile Internet a reality. HTC Touch Pro is for those customers that demand the ease of use and enjoyment of TouchFLO 3D and want the styling of the Touch Diamond but also need the powerful mobile business experience that HTC delivers.”

Internet browsing is made fast and simple with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and wireless connectivity. As the screen is a bit small than the PC-screen, the Touch Pro allows consumers to zoom and pan websites with one-hand and automatically view optimized content on the display. Watch YouTube video and Google Maps for mapping and traffic data.

On sliding the phone from the side, a new five-row QWERTY keyboard layout appears for easy operations while using Microsoft Office documents and e-mails. The handset also comes with an incorporated TV-out functionality, enabling users to deliver the perfect PowerPoint presentation.

Some of the other basic features of the HTC Touch Pro touchscreen phone include:

  • 2.8-inch VGA display
  • Bluetooth 2.0 connection
  • Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
  • A 3.2 megapixel camera
  • A 512 MB flash and 288 MB RAM
  • Support microSD memory card

Working on 1340 mAh battery, the Touch Pro handset offers up to 8 hours of talktime and up to 2 weeks of standby time.

HTC’s Touch Pro business handset is slated to hit European, Asian and the Middle East markets in late summer. The North American and Latin American releases are expected to be later in 2008. Price is not known.
