Optimus Popularis Concept Keyboard Image Unveiled by Art Lebedev

Art Lebedev, a design studio from Russia, has released a 3D prototype view of the Optimus Popularis concept keyboard. Known for its in-key screens, the company has developed a keyboard that features one large touch-screen underneath the primary keys.

Successor of Optimus Maximus, Popularis is said to be considerably smaller than the Maximus, which had OLED screens inside each transparent key.

The Popularis also has differently shaped keys and each-key-a-display setup, an extra row of shortcut keys shifted on the top of the function keys from the left side.

The other difference between the Popularis and Maximus is that the space key display of the successor is now full-length rather than the small square OLED on the Maximus. It would support both Mac OS X and Windows systems.

The concept keyboard is expected be much more reasonably priced as compared to the Maximus that cost $1,564. Optimus Popularis would retail for $1,000 (approx. Rs. 40,000), once it gets into production and rolls out in the market.

There is no detail given about the launch of the Optimus Popularis concept keyboard.
