Samsung L870, a S60 based Smartphone announced

With the launch of the L870 smartphone, Samsung has enhanced its practice of offering high-end features to consumers who are looking for productivity and mobility. The latest device is based on S60 operating system that offers full connectivity and applications for superior operations. It comes pre-loaded with full-speed internet browser and over 6,000 open applications.

Samsung boasts that every millimeter of the smartphone has been given careful attention for custom-design to match the consumers’ lifestyle. The 13.5mm slim and sleek device is housed in a stainless steel body that also offers an elegant hairline pattern.

Jongin Kim, the Vice President of Mobile Communication Division of Samsung Electronics, commented, “We are happy to compliment our product portfolio with yet another appealing S60 mobile, Samsung L870 that is fully customized with style, performance and user interface. With S60, we can successfully deliver the latest mobile technology with fully customizable applications and the intuitive user interfaces.”

Furthermore, the L870 smartphone comes in-built with an enhanced task manager Checkit, PIMs (Personal information manager) homescreen, Team manager and business card recognition function, ensuring a better time and life managing experience.

The other features of the Samsung L870 S60-based smartphone include:

  • Creative user interface (UI) featuring three different themes
  • A 2.4-inch QVGA TFT display
  • A 3-megapixel camera
  • FM radio with RDS
  • Music player
  • Bluetooth v.2.0

Expected to hit the European markets first in August, the Samsung L870 smartphone will reach other nations later, where a GSM network is available. Price is not known.
