Chinese Buddha Phone Provides On-the-Go Nirvana [Buddhism]

The Odin 99 phone, available only in China, includes such run-of-the-mill features as an mp3 player and both front- and rear-facing cameras. But it's also a gold-painted, portable, virtual Buddhist altar that's triggered with the press of a lotus-emblazoned button.

The phone's "portable altar" features are designed to provide a prayer space anywhere, including simulated incense to burn and purification rites. Its packaging includes a metal Buddhist charm as well as an extra battery, as a "gift," which makes us wish certain other companies had Buddhist roots. [CNET UK]
