New Sony HDR-CX11E Camcorder with Smile Shutter Introduced

Sony now announces its new CX11E camcorder. Lately we had reported about the Sony HDR-CX12. The HDR-CX11E claims to be the first one in the world to feature Smile Shutter by using the Face Detection technology.

Some of the key features of the HDR-CX11E camcorder are 1920×1080 full HD recording, AVCHD on ‘Memory Stick’, Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens, ClearVid CMOS Sensor, smile shutter / face detection, 12x optical zoom / 150x digital zoom, 10.2 megapixel still image recording and optical SteadyShot image stabilisation

The Smile Shutter can recognize from a gentle smile to a grin. It allows you to prioritize according to children of adult faces. Sony automatically captures 7.6 megapixel when you smile. Offering a dual capture mode, it captures images whenever one smiles while recording a movie.

The Sony HDR-CX11E provides good image quality with amazing 5.1 channel surround sound. It minimizes the distracting background sound with its zoom microphone capability whenever images are zoomed. The 2.7 inch clear photo LCD widescreen touch panel displays videos as well as photos with good contrast.

You can connect the Sony CX11E to the HD ready television and thus experience an excellent HD viewing. It allows you to control the camcorder functions with your TV remote, thanks to BRAVIA Sync. It provides battery life up to 7 hours (with optional battery). Though it is said to hit the markets in August 2008, it is available for pre-order at the official Sony Style Europe website.
