Peter Saville-Desinged Limited Edition Zune Player announced by Microsoft

Here is the latest edition to the very popular Zune Player from Microsoft. The company has shaken hands with designer Peter Saville to develop five hundred 80 GB digital media player - the Limited Edition Zune Player - to celebrate the release of “Joy Division” Documentary. Thus, the newest release comes pre-loaded with the critically acclaimed movie.

The custom black colored Zune is etched with an adaptation of Saville’s iconic artwork from Joy Division’s “Unknown Pleasures” album.

“Partnering with Zune gives us a unique platform to tell the story of an iconic band and present something special to their fans,” said Tom Atencio, Joy Division’s co-producer. “It also opens the door to a whole new world of possibilities regarding innovative promotion and distribution methods for independent films.”

In the past, Zune has received a variety of enhancements, making it a very popular and highly-acceptable portable media player. Zune made its new appearance during Valentine’s day. Before that, the player even rolled out in the market with its new and improved features to make it a fashionable yet fully-functional PMP.

Richard Winn, director of Entertainment Development for Zune, explained, “We appreciate the opportunity to create a customized product in conjunction with an important project like the ‘Joy Division’ film. Building innovative consumer experiences around music and providing a platform to showcase the work of artists is what Zune is all about.”
