Philips unveils its 52-inch 3D Display

Philips unveils its 52-inch 3D Display. We had recently heard Philips revealing its 132 inch 3D WOWzone wall. This time it isn’t enormously huge and has come up to 42 inches. This 42 inch 3D Display is quite an eye catcher with its media-rich environment and provides an excellent 3D stop and holding power. Fantastic for professional use in pro-AV, digital signage and e4ntertainment.

Its WOWvx technology enables you to view it without any special viewing glasses. This technology uses 2D-plus-Depth format including Declipse giving additional occlusion information for real 3D effect. Philips 3D Solutions offers 3D content creation, conversion tools and technology licensing.

Jos Swillens, CEO of Philips 3D Solutions: “With our new 52-inch 3D display in the portfolio, we can offer the pro-AV and digital signage market an even higher degree of immersion and a more exciting 3D viewing experience. Our broad range of 3D display product – in combination with our full range of content creation tools and our licensing program – makes us a true end-to-end 3D system solution provider”.

The Philip’s 52-inch auto-stereoscopic 3D Display uses full HD (1920×1080) LCD panel. It also offers full contrast (2000:1), brightness (700 cd/m2) and an 8 ms response time. It is said to be available commercially from fourth quarter of 2008. No word on pricing.
